What bachelor’s degrees can I get if I already have an associates in Nursing?
Sierra C asked:
Can I pick a different field to get my bachelor’s degree in like Business Administration, Spanish, or Information Systems Technology? I was told I could pick a field that has room for a lot of electives and just use my prior credits to fill that area. If I do decide to go this route will I be able to receive my BA in no more than 2 to 3 years?
besides a BSN
Thanks for all the replies! Happy Holidays.
I already know what will transfer. I look at that when I was looking at the RN to BSN programs at schools.

you can go to school for whatever you want you will always be a nurse how about healthcare add
It depends on which courses you took for your GE requirements, and the requirements for the BA/BS concentration you pick.
You can choose whatever major you want, though. Just be advised that you may have to take a lot more credits for concentrations that do not have to do with sciences or healthcare.
With your background you might want to consider Social Work. this field has a need for additional people and employment should be easy to get after graduation. Good Luck.
You have not given enough information to answer definitely yes or no about whether you will be able to receive your BA in no more than 2 or 3 years. It is hard to get a BA in 4 years when you start your college education at a 4 year educational institution; that is, compared to how long it takes if you start your college education at an AA school.
Another delay in getting your BA is the difficult getting the classes you need at the BA school. I am not saying the classes are not being given. I am saying that the schools do not offer enough of the classes that the students need WHEN the students want to take them. You may have had this difficulty in your AA school. Just don’t expect it to get better in your BA school.
Part of the problem is not being able to transfer enough units from your AA school to your BA school; that is, after you learn what types of units your BA school may transfer, then apply for the units you want to transfer, you are likely to be somewhat disappointed.
I estimate you are likely to take 3, 4 or more years beyond your AA to get your BA.

Hey Go 4 Online! Are you from Quin Street? This is a school advertiser probably looking for more business.
You can get any degree you want, many of your credits will transfer as you’ve taken gen eds and other courses that will count towards your elective. You will receive your BA in 2 years or so. Make sure you choose a school that is regionally accredited and ask several school if they can do an evaluation of your credits so you can see how many will transfer in versus how many required for your degree, ask for a timeline of classes. Good luck!
